Reviews and Ratings
Mountain Retreat Resort offers a lovely outdoor experience surrounded by the Calavera forest, ideal for hiking and exploring. The spacious accommodations provide a sense of privacy, making it a comfortable stay. However, the amenities could use some updates, and the lack of breakfast options might be a downside for some travelers. Overall, it’s a solid choice for those looking for a clean, functional space in a natural setting.
The resort offers a stunning natural environment with beautiful views and a lovely creek, which I enjoyed during my morning coffee. However, the accommodations left a lot to be desired due to their outdated and worn condition. The hot tub was also disappointingly cold and not operational during my stay. Overall, while the nature surrounding the resort is amazing, the facilities themselves need significant improvement.
I had a wonderful stay at Mountain Retreat. Nestled in the serene Sierras, the resort is small yet offers a peaceful atmosphere with great amenities. The units, while a bit dated, feature essential upgrades and are spacious for families. One downside is that the temperature in the loft bedroom can get warm during summer, and the resort’s dining options are limited since they don't have a restaurant on site. However, we enjoyed using the indoor pool and the proximity to nature attractions.
I had a pleasant stay at the resort which was very clean and spacious. The area is great for exploring the nearby state park, but I wished there were more dining options available. The facilities were basic and didn’t quite meet my luxury expectations but served their purpose. Overall, a decent getaway if you're looking for a quiet, comfortable place with good cooking facilities.
My experience at Mountain Retreat was overall enjoyable but had some mixed feelings. The units are spacious and set in a peaceful natural environment with a nice stream nearby. The staff was accommodating, yet the resort doesn’t have the luxurious feel of a typical getaway. Additionally, the absence of breakfast options was a letdown, especially considering the limited hours of nearby stores and restaurants.
